Call For Entries: Gintong Aklat Awards
The Book Development Association of the Philippines announces the opening of the Gintong Aklat Awards 2008. Meant to recognize excellence in bookmaking in the country, the GIntong Aklat will accept entries until June 30, 2008.

Established in 1981 and held every 2 years, the objective of the GIntong Aklat  is to recognize and encourage the production of quality books.  It is open to all full-pledged Filipino book publishers.  Entries must have been published within the period of January 2006 to December 2007.  The competition includes the following categories: Literature (Fiction, and Nonfiction), Tradebooks (Reference, Lifestlyle, Culinary, Business), Religious (Inspirational, Theological), Children Books (Children and Young Adult), The Arts, Social Science, and Natural Science.  The entries will be judged based on the quality of production, book design, language, and content.
 
Trophies of recognition shall be awarded to the winners of each category.  The awards will be presented on September 12, 2008 during the Manila International Book Fair at SMX Convention Center.
 
Official entries shall be composed of one (1) copy of the nominated book, together with a properly accomplished Gintong Aklat Entry Form, which will be distributed exclusively to all BDAP members.  Submit entries to National Book Development Board, National Printing Office Building, EDSA corner NIA Northside Road, Diliman, Quezon City, c/o Ms. Grace Santos.
