BDAP new member: Christian Literature Crusade

1. How long has the company been in the industry?


Christian Literature Crusade has been in the Philippines since 1957. Although the printing closed down for a brief period during the 1970s, the bookstore operation continued. The publishing arm of the company reopened in 1984.

2. How did the company start? What is its main thrust or vision?

The company started with the vision of Mr. Ken and Bessie Adams of England. It was their idea to open a bookshop and a coffee shop in Chatam here people, especially weary soldiers, can visit and read books that can change their lives. This was during World War. From Chatam, another bookshop was opened in Leicester and in Cholchester, all in Great Britain.

The main thrust or vision of the company is “to make Christian literatures available to all nations so that people may come to faith and maturity in the Lord Jesus Christ."

3. Does the company have a tagline?

Yes. Formerly it was "Spreading the Word Around the World" and then it was changed to "Reaching a World of Readers.”

4.  What does the company wish to contribute to the publishing industry?

Christian Literature Crusade hopes to be active in any undertaking of the organization for the development of the publishing industry in the country.

5. What sets it apart from other publishing houses?

What sets this publishing house apart is that it does not publish just any kind of book. The company publishes books that are relevant, life changing, and consistent with Biblical principles.

6. What kind of books does the company publish?

The company publishes the following kinds of Christian books:  inspirational/devotionals, marriage and family life, children's books, and reference materials.

7. What kind of impact does the company envision their books to have on their readers?

We envision readers whose lives are changed for the better through reading.

8. What can BDAP expect from the company?

BDAP can expect our company to actively participate in any undertaking of the organization for the advancement of the publishing industry.
